Carbon steel pipes & tubes are used in critical engineering application and also in automotive sectors of chemical industries. These pipes and tubes include LPG cylinders, API grade, and medium/high carbon grades. These pipes and tubes are in different sizes as per requirements they are molded. ASTM A53 is the specification that covers seamless and welded black and hot-dipped galvanized steel pipes. This specification covers following types and grades Type F - Furnace-butt-welded, continious welded Grade A, Type E - Electric-resistance-welded, Grades A and B and Type S - Seamless, Grade A and B. Pipes ordered under this specification is intended for mechanical and pressure applications and is also acceptable for ordinary uses in steam, water, gas and airlines. It is suitable for welding and suitable for forming operations involving coiling bending and flanging, Type F is not intended for flanging.

Technical - ASTM A53

ASTM A135 is the specification which covers two grades of electric-resistance-welded steel pipe. The pipes are intended for conveying gas, vapor, water or other liquid, only Grade A is adapted for flanging and bending.

ASTM A139 specification covers five grades of electric-fusion (arc)-welded straight seam or helical-seam steel pipe. The grades of steel are pipe mill grades having mechanical properties which differ from standard plate grades. The pipe is intended for conveying liquid, gas or vapor.

ASTM A178 specification covers minimum-wall-thickness, electric-resistance-welded tubes made of carbon steel and carbon manganese steel intended for use as boiler tubes, boiler flues, super heater flues and safe ends.

Type C and D tubes are not suitable for safe-ending for forge welding.

ASTM A179 specification covers minimum-wall-thickness, seamless cold-drawn low-carbon steel tubes for tubular heat exchangers, condensers, and similar heat transfer apparatus.

Technical - ASTM A179

ASTM A333 Grade6 is the specification that covers average quantity of seamless and welded carbon and alloy steel pipe used at low temperatures. When Grade 6 is ordered under this specification, the supply of an alloy grade requires the addition of any element other than those listed for the ordered grade is not permitted. The addition of elements required for de-oxidation of the steel is permitted on Mechanical Requirements, Tensile Requirements etc.

ASTM A334 is the specification which covers several grades of minimum-wall-thickness, seamless and welded, carbon and alloy-steel tubes intended for use at low temperature. Some product sizes may not be available under this specification because heavier wall thickness have an adverse affect on low-temperature impact properties.

The purpose of this specification is to provide standards for pipe suitable for use in conveying gas, water, and oil in both the oil and natural gas industries. It contains B-grade specifications. In this all Pipes are manufactured and tested to the relevant standards including ASTM, ASME, and API. It is mostly used in conjunction with all of the steel.
